Sticking to your logo
Sticking to your logo is so important, especially when you've hired someone to design it for you. By changing your logo constantly, it actually ends up misleading your audience.
A logo isn't about what looks nice. It's about how your audience connects with you. Branding and rebranding every few months causes confusion, inconsistency, and makes you appear less professional. You're showing your audience that your logo has little-to-no value to your business. Or worse, that the values of your business are ever-changing.
A logo is designed to mean something to your audience. That's the purpose of it. A lot of people think they just need something to look cool to represent them but it's not about that at all!
A good logo is designed intentionally, with your business and audience in mind. A logo isn't for YOU. It's for your business and your audience. It's the thing that your audience should be able to recognize in a line-up and know the name of the business and what it stands for.
Logos like Nike, Target, McDonalds — you recognize those logos because you see them all the time. Changing your logo disorients your audience and makes them have to re-learn who you are all over again!
Stay as consistent as possible. Continue using your logo, or show your face instead, and if (or when) the values of your business change down the line, THEN update your logo and branding to reflect those new values 😊
I'll be talking more about this topic on my IGTV today. Check it out to get more info on why consistency in branding is so important! 🤍
