Finding your “fit”
I’ve talked about it a lot, but I struggle with social media constantly. It’s so hard to find a voice that feels like your own when there are so many competing voices and influences that draw your attention. There’s this line to walk, feeling like you need to align with a certain style, but also differentiating yourself.
It was a constant struggle for me when I first launched my business on Instagram. There are so many amazing designers out there with a specific style that feel elevated and luxurious. High-quality and engaging. I tried to keep my business on-track, sticking to my own style and taste, but I ended up veering too far into a style that didn’t feel like me. I lost my voice and it felt so alienating.
My rebrand really served as a way to get myself back on course and take back the voice I had been trying to maintain previously.
I know first-hand how hard it is to stay true to your own voice when you get caught up in comparisons. Of course, we’re told on Instagram constantly to not compare ourselves to others, but sometimes it’s hard to stick to that. Sometimes we forget.
So this is your reminder that if you feel like you’ve fallen off course, you’re human. It’s easy to do and it’s not something that you should feel guilty or frustrated about. If you need help realigning to your voice, talk to me. I’m here for you ❤️
